Roadmap

What exists, what is next, and what we are still deciding.

Estimators are tired of vendors who announce features that never ship. So this page labels everything: what works today, what is planned, what is only a concept, and what we are still exploring. No dates.

This roadmap is not a commitment. Planned and concept items may change, slip or be dropped based on what we learn. None of them can be purchased or downloaded today, and any prices shown elsewhere on this site for roadmap items are proposals for discussion only.
Now / Next / Later / Exploring

The shape of the plan.

Columns show confidence, not calendar dates. "Now" is in the app today. Everything to its right is not built yet.

Five pillars

The ideas behind the columns.

Names and numbers in the concept images are placeholders.

Pillar A

Flow Board

Planned

One place to see every bid: where it is, who owns it, what is due and what is blocking it. Not another project-management suite; a bid desk for estimators.

  • Kanban and table views of bids by stage
  • Owners and due dates, with bid-day countdowns
  • Stage gates, so a bid cannot reach "Submitted" with open items
  • Bid / no-bid decisions, follow-up reminders and win / loss tracking
  • Local and offline first. Shared multiuser comes later, if at all.
Concept, not yet built Concept mockup of a project flow board: kanban columns from New Drawings through Estimating, Review and Ready to Submit to Submitted, with workload and deadline panels.
Flow Board concept: bids grouped by stage with workload and upcoming deadlines.
Concept, not yet built Concept mockup of a bid lifecycle dashboard showing stages from drawings received through bid or no-bid, takeoff, estimate, review, submitted and won or lost.
Bid lifecycle concept: stage progress, blocked items and recent revisions for one project.
Pillar B

Company Document Inbox

Concept

A Company Document Inbox inside the app, for the drawings and revisions that arrive from general contractors, architects and owners. Optional, hosted and separately priced. Your desktop app never depends on it.

  • File > Company Document Inbox opens the inbox from inside the app
  • Tile and Details views, grouped by sender
  • "Open in Takeoff" from any received file
  • Secure replies back to the sender
  • Hosted storage is an optional paid service; shared folders and email keep working

The principle: hosted services are a convenience you can choose, never a requirement to use the product.

Document Inbox concept: files grouped by sender with an Open in Takeoff action.
Pillar C

Takeoff-to-bid intelligence

Planned

Today the Takeoff table prices quantities with unit costs and your own formulas. This pillar is about going further: from measurement to a bid you can defend.

Already in the app: the takeoff health check, addenda with quantity changes, freezing the bid and pricing the change order, alternates, the question log and bid letters. See bid day.

  • Assemblies and material recipes, with waste Planned
  • Estimate exception checker for missing and odd quantities Planned
  • A cost database, labor and waste factors Planned
  • Revision impact carried through assemblies and labor Planned

Related add-on ideas appear on the add-ons page. They are proposals, not products.

Pillar D

Company accounts

Concept

One company license, many people. Invite employees, group them, and decide who can see which projects, menus and panels.

  • One company license invites employees, with no per-seat charge
  • Custom groups and roles, such as Owner, Estimator and Viewer
  • Project, menu and panel permissions
  • Designed so the core app still works offline for every employee

How offline activation and permissions coexist is an open design question we want to test with real companies.

Pillar E

Browser edition

Concept

Could the product run in a browser without becoming a cloud service? We are testing whether the heavy work, rendering, measuring and calculating, can happen on your own CPU.

  • Heavy work stays on the user's own machine
  • No server-side drawings: files are not uploaded to our servers
  • Desktop remains the primary product either way
  • A feasibility study, not a release plan

How we decide

Principles that shape the plan.

When we are unsure what to build, these break the tie.

Local-first

Your drawings and takeoff live on your PC. Features should work without a network, and cloud features should be additions, not foundations.

No forced cloud

Hosted services are optional and priced separately. If you never turn one on, the product is not worse for it.

Validated with estimators

An idea moves from Concept to Planned after working estimators say they would use it. Ideas that nobody asks for do not graduate.

No invented ROI

We will not publish savings percentages or hours-saved claims we have not measured on real bids. If we cannot show it, we will not say it.

Honest labels

Every feature carries a status: Available, Planned or Concept. A concept image is always labeled as a concept.

Pricing stays simple

One company price, never per seat, and a one-time license option. Roadmap items that might be paid add-ons are flagged as such early.

Shape the roadmap

Join a research interview.

We are speaking with independent estimators, subcontractors and precon teams about how they take off, price and track bids. Thirty minutes, your real workflow, no sales pitch.

What we want to learn

  • How do you track bids today: spreadsheet, whiteboard, a platform?
  • What happens when an addendum changes your quantities?
  • What would you never put in the cloud?
  • Which of the five pillars would you use first?
