Privacy policy
Your drawings and takeoffs stay on your computer. We never sell your data, and we never make money from it.

Kisheet privacy, in short
- Your files stay yours.
- Drawings, PDFs, markups, takeoffs and bid numbers stay on your computer. We never receive them, so we can't read them, share them or train AI on them.
- No sign-in to use Kisheet. No internet needed for a one-time license.
- A one-time license is a signed file checked on your computer: it never needs the internet and never checks in. A subscription will check in online from time to time; if it lapses, Kisheet falls back to Kisheet Free (planned). How often it checks in, and what the check sends, is not decided yet.
- Besides a subscription's check-in, only two things leave your computer, and you control both.
- Crash reports: on by default, and Kisheet asks before sending each one. A report holds the error, where in Kisheet it happened, and the Kisheet and Windows versions. It never holds your files, file names, what you typed, or your user or computer name.
Usage statistics: counts of which commands are used, never your files. Off unless you turn them on in the Welcome screen. For our use only, to decide what to improve.
Both go as an email from your own mail app, and you press Send yourself. - We never sell your data, and we never make money from it.
- No ads, no ad trackers, no data brokers. This website loads no analytics and sets no tracking cookies.
- Works offline and behind firewalls.
- With a one-time license, block Kisheet's network access and everything still works.
Questions: privacy@kisheet.com. The full policy is below.
1. Our intent in plain language
Local-first. Kisheet is built so that your drawings, takeoff and estimates live on your own computer. We do not need to see them to provide the product, and we do not track their contents.
This policy describes how Kisheet LLC, an Oregon limited liability company ("we"), handles personal information related to this website, release sign-ups, purchases, the Kisheet software and optional online services.
2. Your drawings and takeoff
- The core desktop app opens and saves files on your computer. It does not upload your drawings, markups or estimates to us.
- We never receive your drawings, so we do not analyze them, train AI on them, share them or sell them.
- If you choose to email us a file (for support, for example), we will use it only to help you and delete it afterwards, unless you ask us to keep it. We ask that you do not send confidential bid documents.
3. What this website collects
When you use the forms on this site (release sign-up, contact) we receive what you type: typically your name, email address, company, role or trade, and your message.
- Purpose: to reply to you, to contact you about the release, and to improve the product.
- Not collected on purpose: payment card details, government IDs, or drawing contents.
- Where it goes: the form is sent to our own server on Cloudflare, stored in our private inbox (the same place emails to our addresses go) and emailed to us. It is not sent to any form or marketing service. Your IP address is used only to stop repeated sends and is not stored. If sending fails, the page offers to put the same details in an email that you send yourself.
When you buy
Checkout is run by our reseller Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record for all our orders. You type your card or other payment details into Paddle's checkout, not into our site, and we never see them. Paddle handles them under its own privacy notice.
From Paddle and the order form we receive your company's name, the billing email, the plan you chose, the country and tax details Paddle needs for the invoice, and the order and subscription numbers. We use them to issue and deliver your license, send your license email, answer billing questions, and keep the records tax and accounting law require.
4. The desktop app
- No account is intended to be required to measure, mark up or export on your computer.
- A license is a signed file that the app checks on your computer. Checking a one-time license sends nothing; it never checks in. A subscription will check in online from time to time, as described above. A computer with no internet is activated with a request file that holds the order number, a computer ID and the computer's name.
- Usage statistics (off unless you tick them on in the Welcome screen, the only place to turn them on or off; Help > Welcome… opens it again): which commands were used, as counts. Nothing about your drawings, files or what you type. They are for our own use in deciding what to improve, and are never sold or shared.
- Crash reports (on by default, and each one is sent only when you say yes): the app version, the system, and each error’s type and the place in the app where it happened. File paths and user and computer names are taken out, and error messages are left out because they can quote file names or typed text. After a crash the app asks before a report is sent.
- Crash reports have a switch in Preferences > Privacy. Usage statistics are switched only in the Welcome screen; Preferences > Privacy shows whether they are on and opens it. While either is off nothing of that kind is recorded, and turning it off deletes reports of that kind that are waiting to be sent.
- Reports leave your computer only as an email from your own mail app (Help > Send Reports…), which you send yourself. There is no report server.
- Settings and preferences are stored on your computer.
5. Optional hosted services
We may one day offer optional, separately priced services such as a company document inbox, exchanged-file storage or integrations. These are not part of the product today and are never required to use the core app.
If they launch, this policy will describe exactly what is stored, where, for how long, who can access it, how it is encrypted and how to delete it, before you can opt in.
7. Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the site and the business:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, the contact and sign-up forms, our email routing, and the database behind licenses and company accounts.
- Paddle.com: checkout, payments, tax, receipts and invoices, as Merchant of Record.
- Resend: sending license, receipt-follow-up and account emails.
- Google (Gmail): where we read email sent to our addresses and messages from the site's forms.
- Analytics: none.
We never sell or share personal information, and we never make money from it. Any provider that handles data for us may use it only to provide its service to us.
8. Retention
- Release sign-ups: until we send the release notice or you ask to be removed, whichever is first.
- Contact messages and support emails: up to 2 years after our last exchange, then deleted.
- Purchase and license records: for as long as the license lasts, and after that for as long as tax and accounting law requires (usually 7 years).
- Company accounts: until the company closes the account, then deleted within 90 days, except records we must keep by law.
- Crash reports and usage statistics you send us: up to 12 months.
9. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to stop contacting you. Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights. We will answer within 30 days. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
To exercise a right, email hello@kisheet.com.
10. Security
Local-first design reduces what we hold. For what we do hold, we use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. The site and our services use HTTPS, what we store is held with Cloudflare, and only we can reach it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we do not claim any security certification today.
11. Children
This site and product are for business use and are not directed to children.
12. Changes
When we change this policy, we will post the new version here with its date and, for a material change, tell license holders and people on the release list by email first.
